Emergency Response Team Areas
Dear Neighbors, August 14, 2020
This letter is to introduce you to the Lakemoor Hills Emergency Response Team (ERT). The ERT members are ready to respond to our neighborhoods’ immediate needs in the aftermath of an emergency event. When emergency services like Police, Fire, First Responders, Emergency Services, and EMS are not readily available due to priority being given to other emergencies, the ERT may be able to help.
In an unlikely situation that it appears that members of our community may be without local government assistance for 2-3 days or longer, the Lakemoor ERT may provide immediate assistance to those who are hurt or need other help.
Your first action in an emergency is always to call 911 first.
The ERT acts as a bridge to the professional responders until they arrive. We will serve as the contact point with the Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) to inform them of the conditions in our neighborhood.
The ERT is comprised of your neighbors who have volunteered to cover 20 areas in our neighborhood. A map and list of the area captains and the back up captains is included on a link on the LHHA website (lakemoor.org).
Each home should prepare a Ready Kit to support your family for up to three days. The kit is to be used by you to shelter in place in your home or to be taken with you in case of an evacuation. The list of items you should have is included on the Ready Kit bag. Please contact a member of the ERT if you have questions or need help with obtaining or preparing your Ready Kit. Each new resident to the neighborhood receives a Ready Kit bag from the LHHA Welcoming Committee.
What can you do for us?
- Send your e-mail and phone number to your area captain.
- Let your area captain know if you are willing to help during an emergency.
- Let your area captain know if you have special needs in case of an emergency.

If the power goes out and cell towers are down we will be using the following two –way radio communication:
- Two-way Walkie Talkies GMRS channel 19, 462.650 MHZ
- Two-way Walkie Talkies FRS channel 8, 467.652 MHZ
- Citizens Band (CB) Radio channel 9
