Reminder: Lakemoor Hills Happy Hour Friday, June 18 – everyone welcome!
Mark your calendars! July 1st, Oakwood BBQ will be here!
Our neighbor, Trevor, will be here just in time for July 4th (who wants to stand over a hot grill???)!
Details to come, but plan to come by to pick up some great brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, ribs and sides!
Lakemoor Hills Cookbooks Available NOW!
Thank you to everyone who submitted recipes for the “Recipes from the Quiet Side of the River” Cookbook. The cookbooks are in and they look FANTASTIC!
Not only are there more than 200 recipes from you and your neighbors, but there is a history of Lakemoor Hills and several color photos from our neighborhood.
Each book is $20, with proceeds going to the Lakemoor Hills Resource Council and will be used to fund projects to beautify and improve our neighborhood.
We will have a table set up in Circle Lake Park this Sunday (May 30) from 1 – 4 PM. Stop by and pick up a book for yourself (and friends & family – Christmas is only 6 months away)!
If you have any questions, please contact Laura Ward at [email protected]
Recipe Submission Deadline Extended!
We’ve received dozens of great recipes from the neighborhood, but we have room for dozens more!
In order to get your recipes in, we’re extending the deadline to November 28th (Saturday after Thanksgiving). If you’ve submitted 2 or 3, you’re invited to submit more! We’d like to get at least 250 recipes to make a nice collection, so send along the family favorites or your best party foods (including beverages!).
If you aren’t able to type or write in the recipes into the form, we’ll do the work for you! Just make a copy or clear photograph and send it to [email protected] and we’ll do the rest!
Questions? Text, call or email one of the cookbook committee members!

Be A Part of the Lakemoor Hills Neighborhood Cookbook!
The Lakemoor Hills Resource Council is creating a professionally produced cookbook featuring YOUR best recipes!
Everyone is invited & encouraged to submit your favorite recipes for our “Taste of Lakemoor Hills” Cookbook! We will be gathering your family favorites until October 31st to publish a neighborhood cookbook in January.
Please use the form below (you can print the .PDF version or download the Excel version) or pick up a form in the “flyer box” at 2205 Manor Road. You can drop off your recipes back in that box or scan them & email to [email protected]. If you download the Excel version, you can simply attach that to an email back to [email protected].
We would also love your story about the recipe – was it your grandmother’s chicken? Your father’s favorite pie? Or your children’s favorite cookies?
If you have any questions, please respond here. Susannah Hall Perry, Heather Craig and I will be collecting the recipes and assembling the cookbook. We will also be soliciting artwork or photographs for a cover image.
You may submit multiple recipes – c’mon, you know you’ve been cooking a lot during these past few month…share your best recipes with the neighborhood!
The Excel Sheet has been updated to allow you to add your recipe “story” within the sheet.

Moved to this wonderful neighborhood 1 1/2 ago and removed the over-grown 70’s foundation planting. Finally time to re-plant!!, Had unexpected neck surgery this week so I need some help with the landscaping. Anyone know some who who be available for a half day 9-19 or 9-20 for half day of hole digging? Please respond via email to [email protected] to let me know how much you’d charge by the hour for approximately 4 hours of “outdoor gym” workout! Looking for either a student looking to pick up some pocket cash or a yard or handy man (or woman).
GONE! Thanks, everyone! – Reebok Elliptical Trainer
We’re upgrading and have a well-loved, but still in very good shape Reebok RL-545 Elliptical Trainer we are looking to give away (rather than just have it hauled away). If you’re interested, call us at 865-247-7040 and make arrangements to pick it up. It can be semi-disassembled for easier moving.
This is a good machine for indoor exercising over the winter! It has a battery operated console to track time, distance, calories, etc. as well as a built in fan and heart rate tracker in the handles. You can increase resistance for a tough workout or go easy. There are several pre-programmed workouts as well.
Here is a link to the user manual (couldn’t find a link to the machine itself). https://www.manualowl.com/m/Reebok/Rl545-Elliptical/Manual/345380
