Lakemoor Hills Home Owner’s Association Meeting
“The Quiet Side of the River”
Minutes – March 17, 2015
President Dick Graf opened the meeting at 7:00 pm and welcomed all attendees and the neighborhood business people who had display tables.
Secretary’s Report Minutes from January, 20, 2015 – (John Haynes) -Geri Mulligan took the minutes for the January 20th meeting were read, motion was made to approve and seconded, minutes carried.
Treasurer’s Report (Bill Stoess) – Current balance of $ 6,470. Motion was made to approve and seconded, treasurer’s report carried.
Welcoming Committee (Geri Mulligan) — Geri welcomed two new members: Ryan & Miranda Welch on Timberlake and Susannah Perry on Manor.
Neighborhood Business Table Top Exhibits (Kathy Proctor) Kathy introduced the following exhibitors:
Court South In addition to the remodeled fitness center, will open the outdoor waterpark next month.
Kenneth Pace Art Class Meets 5-7 PM Mondays at the Church
Dean Smith Realty Forrest Orr Forrest will work hard for your real estate sales or purchases.
Health Factory Amanda/Billy presented the services available at their center, next to Hardy’s: All-in-One Chiropractic, Nutritionist, Paleo Café & Coffeehouse, Cross-fit Gym
Lakemoor Hills Garden Club Gail Erwin displayed items the club is now selling – Carpenter Bee Traps for $15 and Dogwood Trail Bows for $3.
Suzanne Bowman Weddings Suzanne presented her Full Service Wedding Planning & Assistance business.
Bruce Klassen Furniture Bruce presented his fine furniture refinishing and building business.
Mountain Gillies Clay Aalders could not be here, but his Smokey Mountain “Mountain Gillies” fly fishing guiding and instruction business was presented.
Volunteer Veterinarian Services Their full service pet care establishment in the neighborhood was presented.
Beautification Committee (Sharon Gerkin) – This year’s Dogwood Trail chairperson is Ann Graf; there will be two roadside brush pickups by the city, only along the trail route with dates to be announced; new volunteers are needed for the roadway trash pick-up, list being circulated for time sign-ups; Neighborhood Clean-up Day will be Saturday, March 28 at 9:00AM, meet at the church, T-shirts and lunch will be available for volunteers.
Neighborhood Picnic (Diane DeRopp) May 23rd Memorial Day Weekend 4 PM Many volunteers will be needed to make this picnic successful. Diane asked for volunteers to help. Areas needed: food, crafts, scavenger hunt, adult activities, steel drums, art display, photography, car show, fly fishing, door prizes. Participants should bring dish to pass or dessert. BBQ & chicken main will be provided.
LHRC Lakemoor Hills Resource Council (Charlie Mulligan) On January 2014 we became a 501c3 (non profit status for the LHRC) This is for Public Land use only – not for private lands or structures, or churches. LHRC will be a vehicle for grants to the neighborhood for projects within the neighborhood. This will also provide a means for tax deductible donations for those who love this neighborhood. The LHRC is only for the Lakemoor Hills peninsula.
LHR does:
- encourage thinking beyond financial limits
- Allows donations from residents,
- promotes participation and ownership in the neighborhood,
- promotes public/private projects
- provides annual reports
- builds neighborhood unity.
LHRC – does not:
- make proposals,
- work to accomplish the project,
- secretly fund proposals.

Old Business:
- Sign Up Sheet for getting involved with issues that were given top priority for the Lakemoor Hills Homeowners’ Association. Areas of interest: Website, Neighbors in Crisis, Maloney Road Park, House, Baby and Dog Sitters, Alternative energy sources, Brush pick up
- Maloney Road – still working on the problem of the shoulder.
- Alcoa Hwy TDOT will be installing signing and pavement markings to indicate that the shoulder ends at Maloney & will be brightening shoulder markings at Ginn Rd.
