Reminder: Membership Renewals are Due

August 27, 2022 by Kathy Proctor

Greetings neighbors,

You should have all received a letter from the Lakemoor Hills Homeowners Association leadership that included  a letter describing what the LHHA has accomplished in the past year, your membership renewal form, and information about the Lakemoor Hills Resource Council, our 501 (c)3.  About half of our members have already renewed, some online and some sent the renewals in the enclosed envelopes by mail.  September 1, 2022 is the due date for renewals.

If you want to renew online, use this link RENEW to take you to the renewal page on our website.  You may still send your renewals in by mail to Kathy Proctor, 2429 Lakemoor Dr. and your check should be written to LHHA.    You may also make a tax deductible donation to the LHRC with a separate check.  Thank you for supporting our homeowners association  and our neighborhood so generously.

Alcoa Hwy Corridor Study

June 2, 2022 by Kathy Proctor

Attached you will find a draft copy of the Alcoa Highway Corridor Study which has been developed by staff in Knoxville / Knox County Planning.  This report is to be presented to the Planning Commission on June 9 and recommends several ways that can help improve development along this corridor.  It directly addresses the commercial corridor that is adjacent to Lakemoor Hills on the west and Martha Washington Heights on the east.  One member of the Planning Commission  is Dick Graf who is a long time resident of Lakemoor Hills.  This work may directly affect our neighborhood and can help us get the required services that we all have desired.  Please review this document at you leisure.  The Planning Commission meetings are open to the public.  For more information https://knoxplanning.org/alcoa

2022 Neighborhood Cleanup – March 19

March 12, 2022 by Kathy Proctor

Greetings Neighbors

I know it doesn’t look like it today, but SPRING IS ON THE WAY!    The Dogwood Trail will open on March 31 with a ribbon cutting in our neighborhood.  So we need to get ready!!

This year we will hold our Neighborhood Cleanup Day on March 19 (next Saturday).  Some of you may not be available next Saturday, so I want to encourage you to take the time, when the snow melts, to select a street and take a walk and gather any trash that you see along the way.

If you do this, please email me and tell me what street has been cleaned.  That will allow us to focus our efforts on other streets in the neighborhood on Saturday.

For those of you that want to wait until Saturday, please meet at Lake Hills Church parking lot at 9 AM.  I will have garbage bags, pickers, safety vests and gloves for you to use.   We will also have pizza at 11 AM in the church pavilion to refuel you after your hard work!

Come join us and help make Lakemoor Hills sparkle!

Kathy Proctor. ([email protected])

DOGWOOD TRAILS BRUSH PICKUP INFO

February 17, 2022 by Kathy Proctor

DOGWOOD TRAILS BRUSH PICKUP

The Dogwood Arts organization has informed us that the City of Knoxville will be doing a complementary brush pickup within our neighborhood for ONLY those neighbors whose homes are on the Dogwood Trail the week of March 7, 2022.  All brush must be at the curb by March 6.

The city will NOT pick up stumps, logs or other large items.  This is for BRUSH ONLY.  They will also not pick up debris from unoccupied lots.

Please remember that this is a favor that the City of Knoxville is giving to the Dogwood Arts organization and to us.  They will come one time and not return later in the month.

Let’s all pitch in together to make Lakemoor Hills shine for our visitors when the trails open on March 31.  More news about the ribbon cutting to follow soon.

Alcoa Hwy Corridor Study

September 23, 2021 by Kathy Proctor

Good morning,

I am reaching out to share some information about two upcoming meetings for the Alcoa Highway Corridor Study. I hope you’ll share this with neighbors and others in the community who may be interested. Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information. Thanks so much!

Knoxville-Knox County Planning staff is undertaking a small area study for the portion of Alcoa Highway within Knox County. This work follows a design charette that was held by the East Tennessee Community Design Center in 2019. In 2020, the City of Knoxville and Knox County each approved resolutions for Planning to undertake a study to develop an approach and policies to envision and manage development along the highway. The final recommendations will look at land uses along the corridor, considering specific changes needed to spur that redevelopment and encourage retail, commercial, and increased housing.

To share more about this project, we have scheduled two community meetings on September 30, 2021.

Virtual Community Meeting
12:00 pm
Zoom
A presentation will be given, followed by time for questions.
Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ygDcamdwRhOWEt9PjydUjA

In-Person Community Meeting
5:30 pm
Sevier Heights North Campus, 2939 Alcoa Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920
The meeting will open with a short presentation followed by an open house.

We hope you’ll be able to join us!
