Lakemoor Social needs YOU!
Lakemoor Social needs YOU!
The Social Committee is all about bringing our neighborhood together for fun, laughter, and great community traditions—and we’d love for you to be part of it!
Each spring, we organize the Lakemoor Hills Homeowners Association Family Neighborhood Picnic, usually held at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church. This is one of our biggest and most enjoyable events of the year, often welcoming 150+ neighbors of all ages. Everyone in the neighborhood is invited! The LHHA provides activities for kids and adults, and the Garden Club hosts a popular Plant Swap, where neighbors share plants and gardening tips.
In December, the Social Committee also helps create the festive spirit for the Christmas Tree Lighting at Lake Hills Church by serving hot chocolate, warm cider, and cookies—a cozy way to celebrate the season together.
The best part? Helping make these events happen is actually a lot of fun. It’s a great way to meet neighbors, work with a friendly group, and help create traditions everyone enjoys.
We are always looking for volunteers to join in and lend a hand. Whether you help with planning, setup, activities, or refreshments, every bit of help makes a difference.
For more information, please complete the form below or email Suzan Bowman at [email protected].
Your help is requested with a survey on Alzheimer’s disease and the Pat Summitt Foundation.
Hi everyone! As many of you know, I’m finishing up my master’s degree at UT. For our final capstone project, my team is researching awareness surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and the incredible work of the Pat Summitt Foundation.
We need participants (18+ in the U.S.) to fill out a very short, anonymous survey. It doesn’t ask for any personal info like your email or phone number—it’s strictly for our research project!
Here is the link to the survey. Feel free to share with your friends and family. We’re trying to get at least 100 people to provide their input.

LHHA Annual Roundabouts and Sign Maintenance
LHHA Beautification Committee is soliciting money to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the three roundabouts and neighborhood sign in Lakemoor Hills. As many of you know, LHHA has agreed to maintain these roundabouts, which include mowing, mulching, and weeding. If LHHA did not undertake this project, the alternative is to have the City of Knoxville mow over these roundabouts three times a year.
The anticipated cost is approximately $3,000.00. In the past, LHHA has received a total of $1,000.00 from Lakemoor Station Apartments and Sevier Heights Church. We anticipate the same contribution this year.
Our goal in this solicitation is to raise $1,000.00. Any money received above this amount will be earmarked for the Beautification Committee to help defer any expenses they have in their projects throughout the year.
LHHA is an umbrella organization with the goal of making Lakemoor Hills a great place to live. If you’d like to donate to this worthwhile cause, you can mail a check, use Venmo, or contribute on the LHHA website. Please see below:
Please note that your contribution is for the LHHA Beautification.

Legacy Park maintenance needs
I spoke with Jason Halliburton (Knox Country Parks & Rec maintenance supervisor) today. He stated they have never maintained the Park, and that it does not belong to Knox County Parks. Maintenance needs are the responsibility of our community to arrange. More information is coming to light regarding park ownership and past maintenance activities. The BOD will discuss how to approach future maintenance needs at our March board meeting and communicate the process when it is confirmed. Please direct any future Legacy Park needs or concerns to Lakemoor Hills HOA.

Last Call for Mailbox Toppers and Swag
If you already have one…hint they make a great gift.
There are about a dozen left. See below for further info.
Every year the LHHA Garden Club handcrafts holiday greenery into beautiful mailbox toppers and swag using greenery from the neighborhood!
The garden club elves have completed them, and they are available for you to purchase. Bring the holiday spirit to your curbside. The funds are used for neighborhood beatification projects. This is really buying local!
Two styles available both are $20 each:
1. Mailbox Topper – these easily attach to top of your mailbox using the included rubber bands
2. Swag – these can hang from mailbox post, lamp post, front door etc.
HOW DO I GET ONE?…Its easy!
Use the “Self-Service Pick-Up” located in the Copeland’s driveway 3725 Maloney Road (corner of Montlake and Maloney). Place your payment in the black box along the fence where the toppers are hanging. You can leave cash or check. Payment by check is recommended. Make checks payable to Lakemoor Hills Garden Club
They will also be available Saturday Dec 6th during the Community Christmas Tree Decorating & Lighting beginning at 4:30pm located on the Maloney side of the church grounds. You can’t miss that tree!
Thank you and Happy Holidays Lakemoor Hills.
Lakemoor Hills Holiday Spirit Awards
Lakemoor Hills is shiny bright! So many neighbors have decorated, it really looks like Christmas.
Now it’s time for the Holiday Spirit Awards
A secret panel of judges will be driving our Lakemoor Hills Holiday Wonderland starting Friday evening the 12th so leave those lights on throughout the evening. In judging, all aspects of a home’s holiday presentation are considered, not just the most lights.
To encourage newcomers and design innovation, past winners are ineligible for an award for three years from their awarded year. Winners will be announced on the LHHA website and FB site along with an award sign placed in their Christmas Palace yard. There will also be honorable mentions…so never say never!
The award signs will be retrieved the week after the new year.
I encourage everyone to tour the neighborhood and enjoy our holiday spirit. Jump in the car, fire up the Christmas music, turn up your heater, roll down those tinted windows (so you can really see and feel) and just putt around at 20mph. It will be you and your loved ones magical Christmas night.
Happy Holidays Lakemoor Hills!
