New Contract with Waste Connections
Greetings Lakemoor Hills Residents
Recently a number of neighbors noticed a dramatic increase in their Waste Connections fees. We reached out to Waste Connections and realized that our contract from 2016 had expired. We renegotiated the contract with WCI and have secured the discount again for our LHHA members.
The discounted rates for our members are $52.50 per quarter for trash or $88.50 per quarter for trash & recycle pickup. The non-discounted rate for trash & recycle is close to $130 per quarter. So the LHHA members are still seeing a substantial savings.
As we go through this transition, please check your next billing. If it is not the rates that are listed above, you are to contact Customer Service at WCI (865-522-8161 and select option 2). You can speak to a customer service agent who can adjust your bill.
IF you are not yet a member of the homeowners association, you can receive the discount as soon as you join. Just go to lakemoor.org and select “HOA Member Dues and Renewals”.
LAKEMOOR HILLS 2023 NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP – March 18
The 2023 Neighborhood Cleanup Day will be held on March 18 from 9 – 11 AM. During this time we will pick up trash, spread mulch, polish signs, clean up landscaping and decorate our neighborhood so we will be ready for visitors on the Dogwood trails starting April 1. We are generously supported by Keep Knoxville Beautiful who supplies us with trash bags, gloves, pickers and safety vests. There will be a team working at Legacy Park on Circle Lake, the church, Howard’s Corner (Bluff Point & Maloney), Maloney Road Park, the roundabouts, the access road, and every street in the neighborhood.
You can come and help us on that day (get your assignment & tools in the church parking lot), or you can pick a portion of the neighborhood and jump in early. Just email Kathy Proctor at [email protected] or text 865-599-7783, and let her know which street(s) you plan to walk and remove debris and when you plan to do it. (see street listing below)
We are expanding our reach this year to include the 3 roundabouts, the bridges at Maloney & Montlake, and the western access road (Lakemoor View). So we will need lots of participation from the neighbors. Please join us and help keep Lakemoor Hills beautiful!

I am happy to announce that the bug has been fixed in the Lakemoor Hills Resource Council website and you can now make donations to the Pave it Forward project if you wish. About half of our members have already renewed, some online and some sent the renewals in the enclosed envelopes by mail. September 1, 2022 is the due date for renewals.

Alcoa Hwy Corridor Study
Attached you will find a draft copy of the Alcoa Highway Corridor Study which has been developed by staff in Knoxville / Knox County Planning. This report is to be presented to the Planning Commission on June 9 and recommends several ways that can help improve development along this corridor. It directly addresses the commercial corridor that is adjacent to Lakemoor Hills on the west and Martha Washington Heights on the east. One member of the Planning Commission is Dick Graf who is a long time resident of Lakemoor Hills. This work may directly affect our neighborhood and can help us get the required services that we all have desired. Please review this document at you leisure. The Planning Commission meetings are open to the public. For more information https://knoxplanning.org/alcoa
2022 Neighborhood Cleanup – March 19
Greetings Neighbors
I know it doesn’t look like it today, but SPRING IS ON THE WAY! The Dogwood Trail will open on March 31 with a ribbon cutting in our neighborhood. So we need to get ready!!
This year we will hold our Neighborhood Cleanup Day on March 19 (next Saturday). Some of you may not be available next Saturday, so I want to encourage you to take the time, when the snow melts, to select a street and take a walk and gather any trash that you see along the way.
If you do this, please email me and tell me what street has been cleaned. That will allow us to focus our efforts on other streets in the neighborhood on Saturday.
For those of you that want to wait until Saturday, please meet at Lake Hills Church parking lot at 9 AM. I will have garbage bags, pickers, safety vests and gloves for you to use. We will also have pizza at 11 AM in the church pavilion to refuel you after your hard work!
Come join us and help make Lakemoor Hills sparkle!
Kathy Proctor. ([email protected])
