Alcoa Hwy Landscape Project

November 14, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

Alcoa Hwy TriFold FINALI wanted to update anyone who was not at the LHHA meeting last night about the status of the Alcoa Landscape Project.  The steering committee is now named the Alcoa Hwy Beautification Council.  We are ready to print a promotional brochure (see image) about the project that will raise public awareness.  It folds into 3 parts.  We are seeking businesses, associations, and clubs who believe in the project to add their names to the list of project sponsors.  If you have a group in mind, please send me those names quickly so I can add to our brochure – the more the merrier!  We have scheduled a meeting with mayors and transportation officials on Nov. 28 where we will present the project and its required funding.  If you have connections that can help us raise public awareness, now is the time to make those introductions.  58,000 vehicles will experience this portion of Alcoa Hwy every day, so our efforts go way beyond Lakemoor Hills.  Please share this information and let’s get the Alcoa Hwy Landscape project to become a reality in 2020.

LHHA Needs Graphic Design Assistance

November 11, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

As most of you know, LHHA has been working towards implementing an impressive landscape plan for the areas along Alcoa Hwy that were disturbed during the construction.  We have a team in place – the Alcoa Hwy Beautification Council – that is developing some information to help promote sponsorships of the project.  We have developed an 8 1/2 x 11 draft of a trip-fold promotional piece that we want to use, but we need someone with some graphic design expertise that can help us make it look professional and develop a file that we can take to the printer.

If you can spare a few hours to make our draft something to be proud of, please contact me.  I will have the draft on Tuesday night at the LHHA meeting if you would like to see it or I can email to you before that.  Kathy Proctor, [email protected] or 599-7783

Seeking some local talent – YOU!

November 8, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

Hello neighbors,

The board met on Tuesday night and we have a number of needs and I am sure that we have talented residents that may fit our needs.

  1.  Has anyone ever built a Wikipedia page?  We would like to create one about our neighborhood.
  2. Looking for someone that is familiar with Quicken that would like to take on some financial management for the LHHA.
  3. Looking for a few folk that love working off ladders to help put lights on the neighborhood Christmas tree on Dec. 1.

Also – I did have a response to our inquiry for a notary in the neighborhood.  Susannah Perry on Manor Dr. is happy to assist anyone with this need.

If you are interested in helping resolve any of these three needs, please email me at [email protected] or call 599-7783.

thank you,

Kathy Proctor

New Firewood Pickup time

November 2, 2018 by Gordon Burghardt

Hi,

Friday the weather was poor, so if anyone wants cut and split hickory firewood, easily loaded, please come to our house Saturday morning between 9 and 11 AM. If that does not work, email me at [email protected] and we can arrange another time if any wood left. There are several truck loads available.

3513 Maloney Rd. Home phone is 573-7409

Firewood available

October 31, 2018 by Gordon Burghardt

This is another announcement about firewood being ready to pick up for those interested. It is now turning cooler. We had to take down a huge hickory tree in the summer and it  has all been cut into 16” lengths and split. It is easily accessible from the driveway. If anyone would like a truckload or two, let me know. While several folks have taken away truckloads, there is quite bit left.

I will be at our house for sure today and tomorrow night from 6:00 to 7:00 and it  can be picked up then. Saturday morning may also be a good time, but let me know.

While such hardwood is expensive if purchased, we are giving it away, but do encourage donations to our Lakemoor Hills Home Owners Association towards their beautification efforts with the traffic circles and other future Alcoa Hwy needs.

Gordon Burghardt,

3513 Maloney Rd., 865-573-7409, 865-254-7236 (messages can be left on both)

Notary in Lakemoor Hills?

October 30, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

From time to time some of our residents are in need of a notary.  Some of our residents have difficulty in leaving the neighborhood to seek this service.  Are there any notaries in the neighborhood that would like the LHHA to share their contact info?  Just email Kathy Proctor at [email protected].
