Alcoa Hwy: February 7, 2017

February 13, 2017 by Lakemoor Hills

Contract CNQ029 Alcoa Highway SR 115 (US 129)

February 7, 2017 Project Update

The Maloney Road roundabout on the east side of Alcoa Highway (near Sevier Heights Baptist Church) is open to traffic. Traffic can access the roundabout on 3 of 4 legs (the 4th being the leg on the Maloney Road where the bridge over Alcoa Hwy. will be constructed). Traffic was allowed access on Friday, February 3, 2017.

Excavation and fill activities are taking place on both sides of Alcoa Hwy. Trucks can be seen hauling material from cut slopes to fill areas on the east side between Barber Hill Rd. and Mount Vernon Rd. as well as on the west side between the large cut slope and Montlake Dr. Drainage structures are also being installed in these areas as well as near Woodson Drive.

I think it’s working now…

January 27, 2017 by David Couch

Back in November I had attempted to set up an autopost to Facebook feature on the site. It turns out there was a bug that was preventing the site from posting to our private group. If I’ve done this correctly – this post will show up on Facebook AND the site.

~Your friendly neighborhood web guy, David

P.S. This IS a test.

Alcoa Hwy: December 20, 2016

December 21, 2016 by Kathy Proctor

Charles Blalock & Sons, and their subcontractor Rogers Group is preparing to place asphalt base for the Maloney Road collector (roundabout). Once guardrail, asphalt pavement and pavement markings are installed, traffic will be turned onto the new section of roadway. This should allow for traffic to access Maloney Road and the adjacent properties without using the temporary runaround (see photo below).

Crews will be excavating for Wall #8 on the west side of Alcoa Hwy soon. In preparation for this work and subsequent fill activities on the opposite side of Alcoa near Mount Vernon, the contractor has excavated the grassy median section and placed stone fill. Trucks will be crossing Alcoa Hwy at this location (see below).

Lakemoor Drive Water Project Update

December 20, 2016 by C.L. Overman

The KUB-contractor had a tough day today, December 19, with another blowout of the old line which had a ripple effect on other infrastructure along Lakemoor. Hopefully, no resident had a service disruption.

They will have to dig up 100′ of line to repair the damage.

This is a good crew doing their best in cold weather. Again, if anyone wants the direct contact numbers, those are available in previous posts.

Otherwise, take them some hot snacks and drinks. Kim and I are planning to take them a platter of ham biscuits this week.

Merry Christmas

Website Updates

September 23, 2016 by David Couch

Hello, David Couch here (3525 Bluff Point Dr)

As some of you are aware, I’m your new web developer supporting our neighborhood HOA site.  Earlier today, I made some updates to the site addressing one of the issues I’ve heard repeated time and again – the site is inaccessible, hard to use, logging in is confusing, etc.

And as most of you are probably aware any page or post added to the site automatically sends an email to all users registered on the site. Yep – you. Well, when I installed an update earlier today it happily created a bunch of pages. Yep. It did. And yes, as it is supposed to do – the site promptly alerted all of my delightful neighbors about it.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this err on my part and any confusion or alarm it may have caused. It was not a hack. Rest assured the site is more secure now than it was when I became a member just over 2 years ago.

In the coming weeks I will continue to make updates and changes to the site. I’ll do my best to do so without unfortunate incidents like  the notices that went out today. Also please note that one of the things that I aim to change is the way we use the site to communicate. Did you know that every post made to this site has been a blog post? Yep.

So very soon I hope to provide a more productive, intuitive and accessible forum for us to use for our neighborhood wide communications, and our more select ones too. A specific place to request help in finding your lost pet. Others to contain all messages and conversations by our respective committees, groups and community projects.

To date, I have brought the site software current, made it secure (https), and added an e-commerce solution. Did you buy your Pecans yet? So stay tuned, bear with me, and above all let me know your thoughts and concerns regarding this site.

Thank you,

David Couch
