Opportunity to Enrich Mount Olive Elementary
As you know, Mount Olive Elementary is the designated elementary school for children in Lakemoor Hills, located just across Alcoa Hwy and down Maloney Rd. It is also the place where we are assigned to vote, so most of you have visited that property. A non-profit – Little Chefs, Big Changes (LCBC) has developed an after-school program at Mount Olive to teach children about nutrition and food preparation. The Lakemoor HIlls Garden Club has chosen to support this endeavor, and thought some of you who were not garden club members might be interested also. They need funds and different cooking equipment to help more students be able to participate.
Here is a little more about the project from Sarah Wharton, Executive Director of LCBC.
We’re excited to introduce you to Little Chefs, Big Change (LCBC)—a Knoxville-based nonprofit that teaches kids how to cook nutritious, affordable meals. At Mount Olive Elementary, their after-school classes help students learn essential cooking skills, try new foods, and enjoy a full meal they’ve cooked themselves featuring veggies, whole grains and legumes.
The Lakemoor Hills Garden Club is teaming up with LCBC to raise funds so more Mount Olive students can participate and so they can continue offering classes each semester. Your support goes straight to the cooking program at Mount Olive and will allow LCBC to serve more kids in our community. To donate, check out their campaign called Nourishing Mount Olive Kids, One Recipe At A Time.
Want to donate supplies instead? You can use the LCBC Amazon wishlist to buy the supplies needed to build Mount Olive their own cooking kit.

Every year the LHHA Garden Club handcrafts holiday greenery into beautiful mailbox toppers and swag using greenery from the neighborhood!
The garden club elves have completed them, and they are available for you to purchase. Bring the holiday spirit to your curbside. The funds are used for neighborhood beatification projects. This is really buying local!
Two styles available both are $20 each:

LHHA Meeting Tuesday November 18th 7 PM at Lake Hills Church
Hello Neighbors! Reminder that our HOA General Meeting is coming up Tuesday night. We have a special guest – Kim Frazier, Knox County Commissioner at Large and 2026 Knox County mayoral candidate.
Following a short HOA business meeting, she will host a question and answer session about zoning and place types in our neighborhood under the AdvanceKnox initiatives over the past few years. Kim has had an integral role in these initiatives and has volunteered to hold this session for the residents of Lakemoor Hills. Please make plans to attend and learn what all of this means for your property and our neighborhood!
Public Safety Reminder for Pedestrians
We live in a wonderful neighborhood with various walkable locations. Please be safe and aware of pedestrian rules and rights.

Facebook & Website Access Update
Hello friends and neighbors. At the recent LHHA Board meeting it was decided to again restrict access to our Facebook page & our Members Only portion of the website to only those people who are current members of the organization. After the meeting next Tuesday (Nov. 18) I will purge all members of this group who have not renewed membership in LHHA ($40). There are about 40 of you who fall in that category. If you are unsure whether you sent in your dues in September, you can PM me or email me at [email protected]. If you know you have not renewed, then go to lakemoor.org and click the HOA Member Dues and Renewal tab at the top of the page. Scroll down and you will see the online renewal form. I will be updating Waste Connections with the current membership list at that time also. I apologize for this inconvenience. Kathy Proctor, LHHA Treasurer
