Circle Lake Park…WOW

Circle Lake Park…WOW

May 9, 2018 by Bill Stoess

The walking trail is in and beautiful. Go take a stroll, dig deep and make a donation so the project can be completed.  If your home is walking distance from the park your home’s value is going up a minimum of  $24,000. Average is 8% to 20%. We only need a handful of people to donate $5,000 or more. Or we need a bucket full to donate $1,000. Or a tote sack full to donate $500.  You get the idea! With a 24,000 windfall you should go large. Send your generous donation to Lakemoor Hills Resource Council. PO Box 10435, Knoxville  37939.

A call for camp counselors, and lifeguards

May 3, 2018 by David Couch

Hello neighbors,

Our son’s school is looking for summer staff please forward this to anyone you know might be interested.
Tell ’em David Couch sent you 😀

Dear Tate’s School Families and Alumni,
We are down to the final stages of assembling one of the most dynamic camp teams of the century, and we need your help to get the word out about a few remaining positions.
We contacted camp families two weeks ago (and some of you may have gotten that email), and now we are reaching out to our school families.
Please forward this email to any friends or contacts that you think might be interested or who can post these job openings.
  • Announce these positions to the college class at your church.
  • Consider putting a message on your Facebook or sending a tweet.
  • Share the info with any clubs or groups to which you belong.
For our final positions, applicants must be at least 18 or older.  Many out of town college students are returning to Knoxville soon.  If you know of any seeking the best summer job in town, please send them our way.
Remaining Positions Include:
  • 2 Lifeguards (must have certification by May 29 and we’ll help pay for the certification)
  • 4 Challenge Course (Tower/Zipline) and Target Sport Instructors (we provide the specialized training for this position).
  • Several full-time camp counselors (30-40 hrs. per week) and part-time counselors to work from 2:30-6:00 PM.
Online applications are available HERE.

Thank you you in advance for our help!
Until the fun begins,
Chris Strevel
Camp Director

Calling all Artists and Craftspersons

April 30, 2018 by Geri Mulligan

The Lakemoor Hills Picnic this Saturday will feature an exhibit of fine arts and crafts.   The exhibit is open to all artists and craftspersons in our area.   The Monday art group will be exhibiting but we know there are so many more creative people in our neighborhood.  You can exhibit one piece or many!  No limit.   You can put a price tag on it to sell or not.   But let’s share the talents the make our neighborhood so rich.   If you would like to exhibit please contact Geri Mulligan so we can save a space.  We will be setting up at 3:00 on Saturday so stop by and place your work.   See you Saturday.

Asphalt Paving Questions

April 18, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

I was contacted by a neighbor today with concerns about two asphalt paving companies that they saw were doing business in our neighborhood.  These two companies are reputed to have bad track records.   We have a listing of recommended contractors and subcontractors that neighbors have positive experiences with, but I do not think any asphalt paving companies are on that list yet.  If you have had a positive experience please share their name and contact information on the LHHA Andy’s list.  If you are doing or contemplating a paving project at your home and want to know the questionable company names, please contact me.  If you do not know how to post to Andy’s list, just send the information to Kathy Proctor and we will get it added to the list for you.  Thank you for looking out for your neighbors!

Back Up Power Presentation at Lake Hills Church Tues. April17, 7 PM

April 16, 2018 by Kathy Proctor

Well it looks like winter is here yet again, and sometimes winter brings us situations that take our power down in Lakemoor Hills.  Tuesday, April 17 at 7 PM at Lake Hills Church we will have representatives from Lloyd’s Electric, who have provided back up generators to a number of Lake Hills residents, on hand to explain about back up power options.  They will talk about whole house generators, portable generators, neighborhood discounts and financing options.  If your electrical power situation makes you a little nervous, then come to this informative meeting to hear what the experts have to say.  The more of us that are involved, the deeper the discount.  Take advantage of this opportunity tomorrow evening.
