Boy are we blooming! The panel secret judge’s selections are in for the “LHHA Appreciation Award for Natural Beauty”.
As mentioned in my last e-mail, elements for the award can vary from natural landscaping to well-maintained spaces or a harmonious blend, special trees (especially Dogwoods), shrubs and flowers, appealing architectural highlights surrounded by plants or just something simple that blooms providing that feeling of spring in all of us.
The winners are (in random order):
4108 Maloney
2211 Manor
3534 Raines
3529 Raines
3927 Maloney
Honorable Mention:
3515 Circle Lake
3613 Blow Drive
2020 Velmetta Circle
Be sure to drive the neighbor, WITH YOUR WINDOWS DOWN and enjoy all of Lakemoor Hills natural beauty.
Signs will placed in the winners yards tomorrow and removed at the end of April. If you don’t want it in your yard, please contact Randy Kerns and he will retrieve it (cell 937-694-5627).

Earl Ratledge
Friends … I just learned our neighbor, Earl Ratledge of 3533 Raines Lane, passed away on March 27th. He was 100 years old. The services and burial have already taken place. Mr. Ratledge drove himself to one of the early Happy Hours and brought copies of a self-published book about his experiences in the Korean War.

LHHA Appreciation Awards for Natural Beauty
We are days away from what I call the start of Knoxville’s unofficial FIFTH SEASON of the year…DOGWOOD TRAIL SEASON! In our enchanting Lakemoor Hills we see beauty everywhere, so every Dogwood Season we like to acknowledge some of our favorite properties by giving them the “LHHA Appreciation Award for Natural Beauty”. Elements of the award can vary from natural landscaping to well-maintained spaces or a harmonious blend, special trees (especially Dogwoods), shrubs and flowers, appealing architectural highlights surrounded by plants or just something simple that blooms providing that feeling of spring in all of us. Like the “Holiday Spirit Awards”, it truly is a celebration of all our properties and the work you and your neighbors do designing, maintaining and decorating for all of us to enjoy as we travel through Lakemoor Hills. The award allows us to add an extra focus on a few pleasing properties which come in all sizes and styles from the smallest lot or attraction, to the grandest, even a Charlie Brown tree at Christmas or a well-positioned Azalea providing everyone a chance. Five homes will receive the award picked by our secret panel of judges who will tour the neighborhood this weekend. Also like the “Holiday Spirit Awards”, those that have won within the last three years are ineligible, this ensures a chance for everyone even beyond the three years. If you win an award sign will be placed in your yard early next week in time for the launch of the Dogwood Trail and removed at the end of April. If a sign is placed in your yard and you do not want it in your yard, please contact Randy Kerns and he will retrieve it (cell 937-694-5627). Happy Dogwood Season!
First Happy Hour of 2025 is tomorrow
Hey Neighbors! Reminder that our first Happy Hour of 2025 is tomorrow 5 PM at Legacy Park. The park is located at the end of Circle Lake Lane. Join your friends and meet new neighbors for fellowship and a bit o’ Shenanigans.
We will have Corned Beef Sliders and Chips. You are always welcome and encouraged to bring a dish to share.
Come and see what treasures can be found at the Swap Table and sample the March Cocktail of the Month. See you tomorrow!

Letter from the Board of Directors
Subject: 2025 Roundabouts Fundraising Drive
Annual Neighborhood Beautification Drive
LHHA Beautification Committee is soliciting money to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the three roundabouts that we use to enter our community. As many of you know, LHHA has agreed to maintain these roundabouts, which includes mowing, weeding, mulching, and trimming the plants that were approved by the City of Knoxville. The alternative is to have the City of Knoxville mow over these roundabouts three times a year.
The anticipated cost is approximately $2,000.00. In the past, LHHA has received a total of $1,000.00 from Lakemoor Station Apartments and Sevier Heights Church. We anticipate the same contribution this year.
Our goal in this solicitation is to raise $1,000.00. Any money received above this amount will be earmarked for the Beautification Committee to help defer any expenses they have in their projects throughout the year.
LHHA is an umbrella organization with the goal of making Lakemoor Hills a great place to live. If you’d like to donate to this worthwhile cause, you can mail a check, use Venmo or contribute on the LHHA website. Please see below.
Please note that your contribution is for LHHA Beautification
