LHHA Board meeting last night
Neighbors,
The LHHA board met last night to discuss the concerns and impact of AdvanceKnox and UDO. A new committee was convened and charged with developing a clear summary of what these changes mean, timelines, how you are affected, what steps you can take, and how you can get involved and help.
As a board, we are committed to keeping you informed with accurate and timely information and updates.
This item will be on the November 18th HOA general meeting agenda. We are working to secure a speaker to make a presentation and address questions from residents.
The committee will have an update within 10 days.
Respectfully,
Dawn A. Thomas
LHHA President
AdvanceKnox UDO Meeting Schedule
Knox Planning UDO Meeting Schedule
The 3rd Phase of the Comprehensive Land Use & Transportation Plan is called the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). This phase will address zoning standards, street standards, subdivision regulations, stormwater regulations and building & fire codes. To do this, Knox Planning is holding a series of meetings, face to face and online, for public input this week. Please attend one or more if you can. Follow this link for more information. https://knoxplanning.org/news/2025/0912/841/udo-open-houses-scheduled FYI – you must preregister for the Thursday (noon) online meeting.
Neighborhood Impacted by New Land Use Plan
Knox Planning (Advanceknox.org) has undergone a multi-year effort to develop a Growth Policy Plan for the future of Knox County. This plan addresses zoning, land use, transportation, and other issues. The process has completed and adopted through the 2nd of 3 phases, which dramatically changes the designated land use of our neighborhood. Please look at the drawing attached to this post and follow the link to get more information about the descriptions of these new land uses. TN – Traditional Neighborhood (pg. 30), SR-Suburban Residential (pg. 33) & SMR-Suburban Mixed Residential (pg. 34). https://advanceknox.org/resources/final%20plan/Knox%20County%20Comprehensive%20Land%20Use%20and%20Transportation%20Plan.pdf. For those in the neighborhood that have concerns about how these changes impact Lakemoor Hills, our County Commissioner has offered to assist us to help update the plan. He stated, “I need broad support from the community to begin this update.” More information will follow about how you can respond and get involved.
