Lakemoor Hills Art Club
Happy Fourth of July!
Due to the holiday, the Art Club will not meet tonight.
Meetings resume next Monday, July 11th, at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church 5-7pm. All are welcome.
Any questions? Call or text Kenneth Pace at 865-919-4357 or email [email protected].
Alcoa Pilot Closed
Due to the extremely over-done construction to Alcoa Highway the Pilot gas station is now closed. The easement interfered with the front pumps and canopy. We don’t have a reopening time frame yet. However the good news is the wine store is still open! P.S. they are under new ownership. It is a wonderful family running it. Stop by and meet them.
Kudzu ID Locations
Kudzu – our neighborhood is not immune from the invasive Kudzu. A Lakemoor Hills Kudzu committee has been formed to address this threat to our properties and property value.
We are currently identifying the Kudzu locations in our peninsula. Below is a list of locations. If you are aware of any locations not listed below please respond to this post and provide the location (address and brief description)
Kudzu Locations
1. Montlake between the Church and Tall Pines – both sides
2. 3616 Blow Drive – across the street from that address in a tree
3. Montlake entrance – no action will be taken at this time until we see what the Alcoa construction brings us.
4. Maloney entrance – UT property

Bark for Your Park
PetSafe, a Knoxville based firm, is offering grants to build, maintain, or upgrade dog parks throughout the US. Knoxville is the first city in the US to get a PetSafe dog park in downtown Knoxville. Does anyone have interest in pursuing a possible grant to develop a portion of Maloney Road Park into a dog park? It may not be a possible option with Knox County Parks, but if it is, then would anyone have interest? This is the website for the grant information. We would go for the $25,000 grant. It may be able to be done through the Lakemoor Hills Resource Council, our neighborhood 501 (c) (3) . http://www.petsafe.net/barkforyourpark/

Opportunities for Children in the Neighborhood
There are exciting opportunities for your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors going on at your neighborhood Church, Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, this summer:
- Vacation Bible School begins at 9:00 am this TUESDAY, May 31 and will continue through the week from 9:00 am until noon each day, through Friday. Children may register at the door.
- Additionally, the Summer Recreation Program begins June 6 and continues through July 14, 10:00 am-2 pm, Monday – Thursday each week. This program is an opportunity for indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, cooking classes and a world-famous talent show and play for ages 5-13.
All young people are invited and we hope they will come and enjoy one or both of these fun summer activities!
