Mailbox Toppers
Last day to order your mailbox toppers. As you can see these are very beautiful and tasteful thanks to some talented individuals in our Garden Club. Order form is the 4th pic in this post.

Comcast Outage Issues and their lack of response
It appears there are ongoing Comcast outages on Timberlake and some surrounding areas. Wendy Warren is working very hard to get Comcast to respond. She would like to get a feel for how many houses are affected in an effort to resolve the problem. If you are having an issue with Comcast service, please call them and open a ticket. They will give you a ticket number to reference the report. If you will, please e-mail her the ticket number and your address at [email protected] She has been working tirelessly to get Comcast to fix the problem however Comcast has refused to recognize that we have an outage and continues to blame customer equipment such as cables and modems to be the problem.
Community Tree Decorating
I know we aren’t past Thanksgiving yet but I had to get this Christmas post out! We will again be decorating the community tree near the Maloney Road church entrance. This is for everyone to enjoy. You are invited to help decorate and spend some social time around the tree. This will occur on Saturday December 2nd – ornaments are supplied and will be hung starting at 4:30pm with tree lighting at 5:30pm. Please join us…now forget Xmas for another day and get back to cooking that Thanksgiving dinner.

Trees – Hemlock and Ash Health
This month is all about the Dogwoods…However that doesn’t mean we should ignore all the other wonderful trees in Lakemoor Hills. Specifically I am writing about serious issues with two species – first HEMLOCKS – I have seen signs of the Wooly Adelgid in a couple of hemlocks in our neighborhood (I am notifying the homeowner.) Side note-we hiked the Smokies last weekend and saw many Hemlocks being attacked (very sad). Secondly the Emerald Ash Bore is in Tenn. It is hard to identify. If you have either of these species of trees I would suggest getting an expert to examine/treat your trees. If infested you will loose these trees without treatment. Our garden club had an expert speak to us that can treat them (I use him) however I don’t want to use this site to advertise companies. I am sure there are many experts in Knoxville you can contact. If you would like the contact info for the one I use please e-mail me at [email protected]
Dogwood Trail – Debris Pickup
The Dogwood Festival Organization will be picking up yard debris on Monday March 27th. At the moment there will only be one pickup. The Festival starts on Friday March 31st.
IMPORTANT – the debris pickup will ONLY occur on streets designated as part of the Dogwood Trail. Those streets are identified with a Pink Stripe painted on them. If your home is not on the Dogwood Trail please DO NOT put debris out on the roadside. I attached a MAP that shows the trail streets in Pink. Black streets will not receive a pickup.
Mailbox Bows – Dress up the Neighborhood!
Mailbox Bows will be available to purchase at the upcoming Homeowners meeting. They are $5.00 each. A group from the Garden Club made them (THANK YOU) – word is they are extra special this year! We encourage all neighbors to put a bow on their mailbox in celebration of the Dogwood Festival. If you can’t make the meeting you can contact Ann Graf for a bow at 865-254-4452
