More Tulips Available for Trail Residents- Hurry

November 23, 2021 by Suzan Bowman

This past week about two dozen of your Lakemoor Hills neighbors planted about 450 Pink Impression tulip bulbs outlining the center circles of each of the three Alcoa Highway roundabouts at Maloney and Montlake.  This project is sponsored by the Lakemoor Hills Garden Club to help showcase Lakemoor Hills as the “featured trail” for Dogwood Arts in spring 2022.  These tulips are expected to begin blooming in early April – about the time of the opening of the Dogwood Trail.

Some Pink Impression tulip bulbs are still available to homeowners along the Dogwood Trail.  If you are interested in exhibiting this symbol of neighborhood pride on your property facing the Dogwood Trail, you can ask for a package containing 9 of these tulip bulbs.  Help is available with siting and planting as needed.  We recommend a $5 donation to the Lakemoor Hills Garden club for your package of bulbs.

To place your order, contact Tim McLaughlin (865-599-7251) or Cindy McLaughlin (865-599-7239).

It’s not too late, but don’t delay! Only 18 packages of tulips remain!

Gathering to Honor Bob Porter

November 27, 2019 by David Couch

The family of Robert E. “Bob” Porter was deeply saddened by his passing last week. To honor Bob and thank the local community that befriended and supported him, an informal gathering will be held starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bob’s former home at 3520 Bluff Point Drive in Knoxville. A lunch buffet with drinks will be served.

Bob’s children, Christopher and Abbey, welcome attendees to bring stories or thoughts about their father.

Please rsvp by Thursday November 28 (end-of-day ok), just so we can judge the luncheon requirements.

Any questions, please call or text Abbey at 610-585-5147.

Bluegrass and Breakfast for Supper at the Church

February 22, 2017 by Suzan Bowman

BLUEGRASS AND BREAKFAST-FOR-SUPPER:
The Lake Hills Presbyterian Church has invited the entire community to participate and enjoy bluegrass and breakfast on Sunday night, March 5, at 6:00 pm at the Church. Bring a breakfast dish to share (potluck). Drinks are provided.

After eating, the Misty River Bluegrass Band will give a concert. They are an outstanding band who also perform a couple of times a year at Blackberry Farm. It is a great opportunity for fellowship, good food and fun.

If you have questions, contact Suzan Bowman at 865-579-9001.

Fire Protection in Lakemoor Hills

February 14, 2017 by Kathy Proctor

Most residents of Lakemoor Hills are not City of Knoxville residents, do not pay city taxes, and therefore do NOT have fire protection unless they subscribe to the service that Rural Metro offers.  At our last homeowners’ meeting we learned that Rural Metro will respond to a fire in our neighborhood whether that family has subscribed to fire protection or not.  If you are a subscriber, the visit is free.  If you do not subscribe, the fee is $1,500 per truck per hour.  Multiple trucks are typically dispatched.  The average cost charged to the homeowner to put out a fire is $8,000.  If you do not subscribe to fire protection, then it is time to do it.  Don’t gamble on never having a visit from the fire department.  That is a costly mistake.  Here is a document that will give you information on their service.rural metro
