Legacy Park at Circle Lake Cleanup
It’s “Giving Tuesday” and I want to extend an opportunity to contribute to our neighborhood’s beautification! We are having a 2-hour clean-up at Legacy Park and Gardens on Circle Lake Ln. this Saturday morning, Dec. 1st, from 9:30 – 11:30. Please join us for a bit of leaf raking / blowing, a game of pick-up sticks, and some daffodil planting on the sunny hillside. Coffee and muffins will be provided. Please bring your own tools, tarps for leaves, etc. We could certainly use some strong men to help us load / unload the leaves and sticks. Thanks to Buzz Copeland for offering his trailer for leaf and limb removal! Giving is a Good Thing 🙂

Prints of Blows Ferry Painting by Lloyd Branson Available
After our Sip & Snoop, there was a lot of discussion spurred by a photograph in the Farr’s home depicting the river crossing near Blows Ferry. One of our neighbors, Sally Branson, saw the conversation online and contacted me. One of her family’s relatives, Lloyd Branson, was a well-known and respected Knoxville artist. Mr. Branson created a watercolor painting of the Blows Ferry area, which is now the property of the East TN Historical Society. Sally asked me if she could help our homeowner’s association by offering prints of this wonderful watercolor as a fundraiser for LHHA projects. We said, “Yes and Thank You!”.
The image that you see with this post is a copy of the painting. You may order a 10 ” x 22″ copy of the print for $50. All proceeds will go to the LHHA project fund and will be used to beautify the neighborhood.
If you would like a copy of this high quality print, please contact the LHHA board via Tim McLaughlin. He will place your order and you can receive your copy in about 10 days to 2 weeks.
Call 865-599-7251 or email your order to Tim McLaughlin at [email protected], who is managing the project for the board. You can pay for when the prints arrive with cash or check (payable to LHHA).

A book of his work is available at www.bransonart.org.

Alcoa Hwy Landscape Project
Alcoa Hwy TriFold FINALI wanted to update anyone who was not at the LHHA meeting last night about the status of the Alcoa Landscape Project. The steering committee is now named the Alcoa Hwy Beautification Council. We are ready to print a promotional brochure (see image) about the project that will raise public awareness. It folds into 3 parts. We are seeking businesses, associations, and clubs who believe in the project to add their names to the list of project sponsors. If you have a group in mind, please send me those names quickly so I can add to our brochure – the more the merrier! We have scheduled a meeting with mayors and transportation officials on Nov. 28 where we will present the project and its required funding. If you have connections that can help us raise public awareness, now is the time to make those introductions. 58,000 vehicles will experience this portion of Alcoa Hwy every day, so our efforts go way beyond Lakemoor Hills. Please share this information and let’s get the Alcoa Hwy Landscape project to become a reality in 2020.
