looking for house cleaning service
I just checked Andy’s list and there’s no house cleaning service listed. Does anyone have a recommendation?
From the Beautification Committee
The Beautification Committee will be placing red Christmas bows (approximately 45-50 bows) on all road signs in the neighborhood next week to begin a new tradition of celebration in Lakemoor Hills. Additionally, we are encouraging all homeowners to decorate their homes with lights and greenery creating a lovely environment for our families and friends to enjoy. Four judges from the committee will be driving all the roads in the neighborhood between December 1 – 24, enjoying the many creative decorations and selecting three as “extra special.” A small sign with a Christmas bow will be placed on the front lawn of each of these residences identifying them as a Beautification Award winner residence. The signs will be displayed from the end of December through mid January.
This should be a lot of fun and we are hoping many of you participate. It will be fun driving through our beautiful park-like setting with twinkling lights and colors of the season.
Many thanks to all the individuals who are making this activity possible.
Security Camera System
Hello Neighbors-
At our meeting this past week, there was some discussion about security cameras. I’ve just seen a discounted special at Costco of one under $200 (four cameras, DVR and associated set-up) for on-line order. In case you are interested and know a Costco member.

Reminder: I.C. King Work Day Tomorrow, Nov 22
Hi again!
Just a quick reminder – looks like it will be a nice day to get out and work on our trails tomorrow. We will actually meet in the south side parking lot a little before 9 am. Coffee (thanks to Old City Java) and treats will be there for workers. Lunch at noon will be provided by The Bike Zoo.
All hands welcome!

Lost Dog ? German Shepherd
There is a skittish German Shepherd roaming the Circle Lake, Bluff Point area for the past two days. It has a collar, but runs away when called or approached. Anyone missing a dog?
I.C. King Work Day November 22
Hi everyone,
Although exciting new greenways within the neighborhood are still to come, we have a great trail playground just across the highway. With both the North and South entrances open, I.C. King Park has grown as a fun, close-in option for biking, trail running, dog walking and fishing.
The Appalachian Mountain Bike Club (AMBC) maintains and upgrades the trails and is hosting a Fall Work Day next Saturday, November 22 from 9 am to 12 noon. We’ll be working on the south side building new bridges across some muddy sections and doing the usual clearing and smoothing of trail spots and switchbacks. Clearing along the entry area and road will be a major endeavor as well – designed to make it look more open and welcoming as you pull in.
Any help is appreciated during the work day – bring gloves and water and we’ll gear you up! Chainsaws and brush blade weedeaters are always useful too! Park and gather on the north side for your assignment – there’s a job for everyone!

Alcoa Highway/Maloney Rd Intersection Explanation
Here is an explanation of the situation at the Alcoa Highway/Maloney Road intersection, as explained to our Committee Chair Gene Burr:
Subject: Alcoa Highway near Maloney Road IntersectionMr. Burr,It was a pleasure to speak with you recently regarding Alcoa Highway near Maloney Road in Knoxville.During the recent safety project along Alcoa Highway near the Maloney Road intersection, there was an 8” gas line relocation and an existing 2” water line that was retired. The project included installation of curb and gutter and storm drain pipe in the vicinity of the intersection. It was the goal of the project to provide the improvements within existing right-of-way to minimize impacts and to provide an aggressive delivery schedule. The widening design of the center medians required the use of most of the existing right-of-way. Additional right-of-way would have been required to provide deceleration lanes at the intersection, which would have required additional time to deliver the project. As an added measure, I have asked our Regional Traffic Office to review the location and determine if any additional low-cost safety improvements, such as signing and marking, could be added to the area near the intersection to alert the motorist that the shoulder ends prior to the Maloney Road intersection. We were pleased to work with your community to be able to deliver this project as quickly as possible and provide interim safety improvements to Alcoa Highway. If you have further questions or need additional information, please let me know.Amanda Snowden, P.E.Regional Director of OperationsTDOT – Region OneThanks for that information, Gene!
TDOT road project delayed
After hearing a story on the noon news, I followed up to read the story to find out that the construction project on Alcoa Highway from Maloney Road to Woodson Drive is listed as one of the projects that has been delayed. If anyone has knowledge about what this really means, please let us know. It is not consistent with the answer to the funding question at the recent community meeting – but not surprising given the perpetual delay of addressing the problem.
