It’s time to celebrate!
It’s time to celebrate!
Our tennis court refurbishment project at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church will be completed this week and everyone is invited to our “ribbon-cutting” celebration on Sunday, August 28th at 5:00 at the courts. A total of $20, 085.50 was raised and Lake Hills Church contributed 25% of the total cost of the project, so we were able to straighten and paint the fences as well as resurface the courts! A huge thanks to the members of the Lakemoor Hills Resource Council for their invaluable assistance in handling all the tax-deductible contributions and to Jim de Ropp, Penny Mitchell and Stuart Worden for heading up the fund-raising campaign. Flo Curtis, Sue Humble, Cindy McLaughlin and Kathy Unger were also a great help as members of the project committee. Jim de Ropp deserves a special thanks for all the time and effort he has put into this project. We were so fortunate to have an individual with his dedication and expertise. Of course, thanks to the support of the LHHA, the Lake Hills Tennis League, Lake Hills Church and so many of you in our community that gave generously to support this project. We can now be proud of our beautiful “new” courts! We look forward to seeing you this Sunday for light refreshments and the opportunity to visit with neighbors at this joyous celebration!

MISSING BERTIE!
Lost Dog
From Sally Boyington (on Timberlake):
I found an elderly female yellow lab today, with no tags. She’s too arthritic to have gone far, and she is well fed and (except for being filthy) well tended.
If you know of anyone who has lost this treasured family friend, please call me: 865-309-4785.
Thanks.
Sally
Lost dogs found on Timberlake Drive
Sally Boyington has one dog found running on Timberlake. It is a yellow retriever. She could not catch the other dog; it is a shepard looking dog that is white with brown spots. Both dogs look like they have been out overnight: wet and dirty. Sally’s phone number is 865-309-4785. From John Rennie

Additions/Correction to Donor List for Tennis Project
Dear Neighbors,
Unfortunately, when the list of donors for the tennis court refurbishment project was published, the names of two couples were inadvertently left off. Please accept my sincerest apologies for these oversights! We want to also acknowledge the generous contributions from Mike Parker and Suzan Bowman and Jim and Linda Worden. My apologies also to Karen and Harvey White whose surname White was not included. Once again I am so very sorry for these oversights.

Election Signs
i was asked to post the following message from Carolyn and Don Dougall:
Two days after buying and placing on our property a Hillary for president sign, it was stolen. This has happened every presidential election year beginning in the 1990’s. Our property has been violated as has our right to speak what we believe. I am ashamed of our community, Lake Hills. This is stupid and childish!
